Christoph Boeninger, known for designing the first PC laptop, established the design department at Siemens USA at the very start of his career. He went on to lead various Siemens design teams until 2006. After leaving Siemens, he founded Brains4Design in Munich. Today, he works in furniture design.
His creations are part of permanent collections in museums across Europe and the USA, including the Aluminium Soest chair, the patented SAX-table for ClassiCon, as well as the A-bowl and Table No. 28, both exhibited at the MoMA in New York.
He also lectures at various universities and serves as a curator for the Haniel Foundation.
