House Conturines boasts a picturesque setting at the forest’s edge, offering stunning views of the Dolomites. Its design embraces local tradition: a solid, partly embedded ground floor supports an overhanging, timber-framed upper level with a pitched roof, blending the building into the Alpine landscape. Façades and roof reinterpret regional heritage in a contemporary language.
Built to the A Nature Climate House standard, the project ensures energy efficiency and sustainability through local materials. Concrete walls, mixed with an aggregate of white Dolomite rock, were finely treated on site for a unique texture, while façades and roof feature South Tyrolean larch wood. Interiors use local oak for walls and floors, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Functionally, the house offers a basement with ample parking and two upper floors that host the main living areas.
