Who Are the BIG SEE Product Design Nominators?

BIG SEE Product Design Nominators are designers, professors, researchers, editors, and curators from Southeast Europe – a region we see as one of the world’s creative edges.

Edges are places where resources are limited, expectations are high, and ingenuity is essential. Coming from leading studios, universities, and cultural institutions, our nominators understand what it means to design with real constraints and recognise the qualities that define meaningful contemporary design: clarity, functionality, responsibility, and intelligent use of materials.

Each nominator selects one exceptional young designer under 30 from their country – a talent who shows curiosity, courage, and the ability to design “from the edge”: hands-on, resourceful, and attuned to how objects live in the world. Many of these emerging designers work outside traditional centres of influence, which makes this recognition especially powerful.

Their insight ensures that promising young creators receive visibility and support at a crucial moment in their development. Through the BIG SEE Perspectives Award, their voices are amplified as they step onto the global design stage.

Together, this nominator network strengthens the foundations of product design in Southeast Europe and sets the stage for supporting young designers from creative edges worldwide.
