Around

Studio JanskyDundera, in collaboration with the kolemhlíny platform, presents the Around Table – a monumental piece offering a fresh perspective on the use of local waste earth by a new generation of designers.

The handcrafted table is made from stonemasonry scraps and rock excavated during the construction of Prague’s new Metro D line. Free of cement additives, the material remains completely natural. Alongside earth recovered from landfills, the table incorporates fragments of Slivenec marble, characteristic of Prague’s iconic mosaic pavements, and Lipov marble, famously used on the Bull Staircase of Prague Castle designed by architect Josip Plečnik.

Its surface is finished with natural wax, preserving the raw essence of the material while ensuring that it remains practically reusable. Through ramming technology, waste resources are transformed into a piece with unique aesthetics, tactile richness, and a remarkably low carbon footprint.
