The backbone solves the problem of stability of a parachute backpack when flying in freefall. Its shape follows the ergonomics of the back and hugs it. The design challenge lies in the great height and contour control of the product thermoforming process. The backbone is used on ICON parachute systems by Aerodyne Llc from the US and South Africa
