This project comprises the just-completed, comprehensive refurbishment of a protected, terraced house from the 1920s in a historic settlement in Berlin. The intervention carefully balances heritage conservation with contemporary standards of living.
The building was renewed from basement to roof, including a discreet roof extension and a fully renewed roof structure. A new heating system, complete upgrade of all building services, and internal insulation bring the house to current technical and energy standards. All installations were entirely replaced. The interior was completely redesigned, with all built-in furniture individually designed by the studio and crafted by a local carpenter.
The project transforms the historic structure into a contemporary home while preserving its original character.
