Cap&Block Table

Cap&Block Table draws inspiration from traditional architectural elements known as DouGong, a construction method characterized by interlocking wooden brackets used to support large overhanging eaves in traditional Chinese architecture.

This table is constructed without screws or adhesives, featuring modular components that can be easily assembled or disassembled. The rectangular brackets (Gong) slide into the beams (Dou), creating a weight-bearing structure that maintains its integrity when lifted or moved.

The Cap&Block Table balances form, minimalism, and tradition, making it a seamless fit for modern living environments. Crafted from natural maple, the table’s bracket connectors were initially shaped into long beams and then sliced into smaller pieces, emphasizing both functional design and aesthetic appeal.
