The Möbius lamp is inspired by the Möbius strip, a motif that symbolizes the infinite and eternal cycle. This self-recurring ribbon represents a two-dimensional surface with only one side and two edges, embodying an infinite surface form. The lamp merges interior design with fine art, serving as both a visual art element and a functional lighting fixture that enhances the identity of its environment.
The Möbius lamp features a curved system of shapes that can be scaled, assembled in various configurations, and extended in any direction. Its design allows for flexible composition, making it adaptable to any space. The smallest composition consists of three elements made from stainless woven mesh, which is fire-resistant, durable, easy to clean, and colorable. The lamp is self-supporting with sanded edges and invisible joints, and its lightweight construction allows for varied suspension methods.
The lamp offers three lighting concepts:
A translucent surface when illuminated from inside. A solid surface when illuminated from outside. Floating, spatial graphics when illuminated from the edge. The lamp’s components are manufactured in a factory and assembled by hand, preparing it for series production. Emphasizing sustainability, the lamp is designed for durability, defying the practice of disposability and ensuring it lasts for multiple lifetimes.
