Urška holds a master’s degree from the Faculty of Architecture and simultaneously completed her studies in Textile and Fashion Design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana. She further expanded her knowledge at Aalborg University in Denmark and attended several educational programs, including the “Fashioning the Future” program at the Centre for Sustainable Fashion, UAL, London, and jewelry-making courses at the renowned Central Saint Martins school in London.

After completing her studies, she lived and worked in London for several years, where she founded her design studio, urskas˙, in 2019. She draws design inspiration from her professional background. “In my work, I express my passion for craftsmanship, developing objects into playful, functional, contemporary pieces, emphasizing the importance of heritage intertwined with the use of new technologies.” – Urška Sadar

She collaborates with numerous private clients and international companies. Together with Studio Sadar, she designed the pavilion Slovenia, the guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair last year.

Her work has been exhibited in various countries; at Canary Wharf Gallery in London, Milan Design Week, M&O in Paris, the Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana, and one of her collections of textile jewelry became part of the permanent collection of the Slovenian Ethnographic Museum in Ljubljana this year.

She is interested in the connection between contemporary and traditional techniques, exploring unpredictable forms, and designing playful objects with added value.
