A new design hotel has opened in the bustling heart of Siam Square, Bangkok, a vibrant hub of culture and activity. This striking hotel features a façade that creatively reinterprets traditional Thai architectural elements, particularly the Pun-Lom, which refers to the intricately carved bargeboards commonly found on conventional Thai houses.
The exterior is adorned with stainless steel chain links, adding a contemporary flair that represents the mosquito nets traditionally used by Thai people to cover their beds while sleeping. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a lively interior that celebrates the essence of Thailand through a vibrant colour palette inspired by Thai tones. This is especially evident in the communal spaces, where bright hues and intricate designs evoke the spirit of Thai culture, creating an inviting and energetic atmosphere.
The main lobby features an orange, pebble-form reception against a green background, welcoming every guest. The lobby is designed with double-volume ceilings, allowing visitors to glimpse activities in the yellow and black common area on the second floor, which features spaces for working, dining, and leisure. At the back of the lobby, a relaxing pool bar offers a serene setting for guests to unwind amidst peaceful greenery. These playful colors extend throughout the lift hall on every floor, with different colors designating each level. As guests approach the guest rooms, the colors gradually shift to more neutral tones.
