LAN (Local Architecture Network), France

LAN (Local Architecture Network) was founded in 2002 by Benoît Jallon and Umberto Napolitano to explore architecture as a field of activity at the intersection of multiple disciplines and to develop a vision that encompasses social, urban, functional, and formal issues. LAN projects seek to find elegant, contemporary answers to creative and practical problems.

LAN has won several awards to date, including the Nouveaux Albums de la Jeune Architecture (NAJA) in 2004, awarded by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. In 2011, LAN won the LEAF award for the best sustainable project, as well as the SAIE Selection Awards 2011 and the AMO Fondation d’Entreprise Excellence SMA special award.

Umberto Napolitano began studying architecture in Italy and completed his studies in France at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris La Villette. While still a student, he collaborated with numerous architects and studios.
