Štok is an all-wood chair, which does not contain any metal components or glue. It is a simple stool which varies in dimensions and can therefore serve as a bench, table, chair or even a shelf for plant pots. It can be used indoors as well as outside, in private spaces or for example in cafes. It is produced from locally sourced wood which is being replaced by newly planted trees. Although originally different natural surface treatments were experimented with, like the traditional Japanese technique of charring wood with fire, it was later decided to keep Štok without surface treatment to preserve the pleasant feel and look of untreated wood. It can be easily assembled and disassembled and is perfect for creating seating arrangements in small spaces like balconies or mezzanines. Štok was inspired by intense studies of forest biology and wood craftsmanship one of our designers undertook as part of a project called Vistas, where he created relaxation points in nature for passers-by.
