Neven Sidor

Grimshaw Architects, United Kingdom

Studio Grimshaw was founded in 1980 by Sir Nicholas Grimshaw and expanded its partnership in 2007, now with offices around the world — in New York, London, Sydney, and Doha — and 325 employees. Its international portfolio covers all major sectors and has been recognized with more than 150 international awards, including the prestigious Lubetkin Prize. The studio’s work is characterized by conceptual distinctiveness, innovation, and a rigorous approach to detail, based on the principles of humane, sustainable, and durable design.

Since Neven Sidor joined Grimshaw in 1981, he has been responsible for 18 major completed projects, including six international ones. He devotes most of his time to design and manages internal design control at the London office. He also writes articles for architectural magazines and lectures around the world.

Neven Sidor has extensive experience in the fields of commerce, infrastructure, and education. Of particular note is his leadership of the team that won the competition for Waterloo International Terminal railway station, and they also designed Bijlmer station and Amsterdam’s Ijburg Bridge, Lloyds TSB Headquarters and St Botolphs Building in the City of London, the second phase of the Excel Exhibition Centre (Royal Victoria Dock), the huge Halle 3 hall at the Frankfurt Trade Fair, the new academic building for the LSE and the UCL Paul O’Gorman Cancer Institute, both in London’s Bloomsbury.
