
Lutz Kucher

Lutz Kucher was born in 1964 in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. He studied industrial design in his hometown.
As a designer and design strategist, he collaborated with leading design studios in Italy and the US, then founded PARK, one of the first strategic design agencies in Europe, with Frans Joziass and Tim Selders, with studios in Hamburg, London, Noordeloos, and Munich. In 2001, he left the agency, became a partner at KISKA Design in Salzburg, and introduced strategic design and an innovative approach to the Austrian market. Then, in 2007, he and Alex Thusbass started Kucher&Thusbass, which develops portfolio strategies and market innovations for its clients and takes care of design and brand development.
In addition to his work at Kucher, he also lectures at one of Europe’s leading design schools, the industrial design program at the FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz, where he is an adjunct professor of Strategic Design and Design and Ecology.
He is the recipient of numerous international design awards (IDEA, red dot, IF, etc.) and holds several patents.
