Batlle I Roig, Arquitectes is an architecture studio founded in 1981 by Enric Battle and Joan Roig. Today, its multidisciplinary team consists of 40 professionals working in the fields of architecture, landscape, environment, sustainability, construction, and engineering.
The studio is currently developing the first phase of the Lumine residential complex, the Mediterrània Beach & Golf Community, the headquarters of Massimo Dutti (INDITEX) in Tordera, and two buildings for the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) – Campus Diagonal Besòs. It is also preparing plans for an outlet shopping center in Viladecans, the Fabrica Nova shopping center in Manresa, and an office building on Tànger Street in Barcelona’s 22nd district.
The firm’s recently completed projects include an office building for the headquarters of CMT – Comissió del Mercat de Las Telecomunicacions and the Interface office building (both in Barcelona’s 22nd district), a waste treatment plant in Vacarisses, the headquarters of Telefónica Corporate University (Roca del Vallès), and the Ciutadella sports center in Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella district.
Juan Roig has been teaching architectural design at ETSAB in Barcelona since 1984 and has been a guest professor at numerous universities, including Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), Washington University (St. Louis, USA), École Supérieure du Paysage de Versailles (France), Technische Universität (Munich, Germany), and the Faculty of Architecture at the Universidad de Navarra (Pamplona).
