Guiseppe Genco
GMGA; Italy
Giuseppe Maria Genco graduated from the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture with the architect Paolo Zermani. During his years in Switzerland he attended, among others, the atelier of Mario Botta, Grafton Architects (Yvonne Farrel and Shelly Mc Namara), Josè Maria Sanchez Garcia, Joao Nunes and Joao Gomes.
His studies and experiences in Italy, Spain and Switzerland have provided him with the tools to shed light and develop sensitivity to architecture as a living space for human.
The relationship with the context and history, the material, the light, the tension that is generated between the void and the full are the elements which give rise to the architectural space.
Each project starts with a careful study of the history of places to give life to the design research process. In the complex dichotomy between tradition and innovation, the fundamental role of materiality, light, shadows, vibrations with the context, mean that the creative process becomes a process of continuous knowledge.
