Every new task is a new challenge

An interview with Zdenek Veverka; Productdesign, Czech Republic

What makes your winning project one of a kind?
One shape scheme used for small flow heaters and heaters with a container for 5 and 10 l. The simple lines of the front cover allow the shape to be adapted to different sizes of heater. All 3 heaters of different sizes still visually belong to one family. The heater can be purchased with a bottom or top outlet with or without touch control.
One shape scheme offers a total of 10 different products.

What did you learn from this project?
The project was commissioned as economically and environmentally friendly. It was necessary to find a shape that could be change so that all variants looks as a family. It was necessary to use only 2 main large parts ( bottom and front cover) .

Every new task is a new challenge. It is important to perceive things around you to see details, materials, colour combinations

What are you working on at the moment?
I finished the kitchen robot project and now I’m working on a bagless vacuum cleaner.

What is your driving force?
Every new task is a new challenge. It is important to perceive things around you to see details, materials, colour combinations. These are the moments that will lead to the correct construction of a new design.

Any ideas you think should be front and center in the minds of architects?
Projects that use non-traditional methods such as 3D printing or recycling of discarded containers are amazing. I think that looking for alternative ways to those commonly used is the right way.
