Emmi Keskisarja

&’, Finland

Emmi Keskisarja is a Finnish architect driven by the desire for sustainable change and humane sensitivity. Emmi works with traditional Finnish materials like wood and glass, seeking to understand their potential for broader systemic transformation.

Emmi’s architecture embodies a profound sensitivity to movement and space, rooted in the visceral connection through her practice of Argentine Tango. This perspective feeds her designs with a dynamic energy. She seeks to create spaces that resonate with the human experience. At her practice with her partner Janne Teräsvirta, she has worked with public building projects, housing, research, and teaching.

Characterized by a fusion of scientific inquiry and artistic expression, Emmi’s work transcends conventional boundaries, pushing the envelope of architectural innovation. She was a co-curator (with the Dry Collective) of the Pavilion of Finland at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
