With “Das Bootshaus” (“The Boathouse”) the in the Austrian gastronomy scene well-known family Querfeld (Café Landtmann, Café Mozart etc.) embarks on a new path “on the water” and combine two of their passions: rowing and being a host. Stylistically, the design concept literally goes into the waters, in particular into the waters of the traditional British rowing sport and brings this special mood to the city of Vienna. High-quality materials such as dark brown leather, copper, oak as well as original decorative elements are used for staging. Original accessoires that took a long time to collect and auction, such as classicist old building tiles and lovingly restored chairs are combined with dark herringbone parquet and Chesterfield leather benches. Wood panellings, old lockers as well as wall bars and sports equipment for an authentic “gym feeling” round it all off. The finish for the perfect rowing club romance is an open roof truss in muted white, from which crystal chandeliers from England and a rowing boat have been hung. The fireplace in the center of the boathouse represents a remarkable highlight. During summer time a lovely guest garden by the water attracts both locals and their neighbours.
