
Branislav Mitrović

Architect Branislav Mitrović was born in Bar. After graduating high school, he entered the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Belgrade in 1967. He graduated in 1974 in the studio of Prof. Arch. Uroš Martinović. He was admitted to the Association of Applied Arts Artists and Designers of Serbia in 1977. Between 1977 and 1986 he was employed in the Designing Office Srbijaprojekt as independent and later as leading designer. From 1986 to 1990 he worked at the Center for Research and Design – CIP Belgrade, as leading designer. In 1990 he became Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of University of Belgrade.
From 1983 to 1989 he was member of presidency at Society of Belgrade Architects and between 1993 and 2001 member of presidency at Society of Serbian Architects. From 1997 to 2001 Professor Mitrović was the President of Society of Serbian Architects. In 1995 he was elected as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade. From 1995 to 1997 he was the chair of the Department of Architecture. In 1998 he was appointed as full Professor at the Faculty of Architecture. In the period from 2005 to 2009 he was the President of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers. In 2009 Branislav Mitrović founded his architectural studio MITarh in Belgrade. Since 2006 he has been admitted as the corresponding member of Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences and corresponding member of Engineering Academy of Serbia. From 2010 to 2013 he was the President of the Board of Directors of the National Museum in Belgrade; President of the Commission for professional exams Serbian Chamber of Engineers from 2010; Since 2012 he is a member of the Association of Architects of Serbia and the same year he was admitted as a regular member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and as a regular member of Engineering Academy of Serbia.
