AchterboschZantman architecten, the Netherlands
Bart Zantman joined Archterbosch in 2005 and became a partner two years later. At that time, they changed their name to AchterboschZantman architecten. Today, they build and design projects in both the Netherlands and China. In their work, they experiment with new materials and structural designs. One of their first such projects was a wooden bridge on the Sneek cycle path, made from a special modified wood patented by a Dutch company. They have also completed an important project in China: a village with 40 attractive wooden houses in the treetops.
Zantman is a member of the advisory board of the Faculty of Architecture in Groningen and head of several architectural student workshops in the Netherlands.
