Marcel Muntean is an architect. Between 1997 – 2010 and after 2021 he taught courses in Architectural Theory and project design in the Faculty of Architecture in Timisoara. From 2014 to 2019 he was a visiting professor in Italy, Germany and Brussels.
Between 2004 and 2008 he was vice-president of the Union of Romanian Architects.
Since 1996, he has been coordinating the Archespace architectural studio, with which he has won national and international architecture and urban planning competitions, his works being published in Spain, China, India, Slovakia, Greece, Roumania, etc.
Between 2004–2006 he was co-organizer of the program “Restoration of architectural surfaces” financed by Unesco – UMG ARSITEC Venice Office, program dedicated to master’s students in restoration from Eastern Europe.
Since 2010, he is the president of the Archesus Foundation, with which he runs several international cultural programs.
In 2016, he graduated from the Master of Yacht Design at the Politecnico di Milano with a merit scholarship.
In 2017, he was present on the short list of the Mies van der Rohe awards with the project Teba (Bibliotheca), a project carried out with volunteers (branch of Elly Hill) since 2006.
