Multipraktik is a young, Hungarian brand producing high quality plywood panels and unique pieces of furniture to individual orders. As a family business, with decades of experience and background in table tennis blade manufacturing, we started experimenting with making and using custom plywood a few years ago. Our panels, manufactured to fit the customer’s ideas and needs, offer an aesthetic alternative to traditional plywood, chip boards and solid wood. They fit all environments where natural raw materials, outstanding quality and a unique visual experience are important.
Beside plywood as our primal product we have always been interested in furniture making as well. In 2022 we had an inspiring collaboration with Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) Budapest, where students of the Product Design program have been working on/with Multipraktik plywood panels as part of an experimental course. The basic idea of PERMUTATIONS was unfolded from this project. Zoltán Krémer started an exciting surface experiment with our dyed plywood veneers which finally materialized in an ensemble of modular wall elements. Beside the storage functions, the set can be interpreted as a wall panel with a strong visual impact. The colourful, grooved fronts create vibrant, 3D, mosaic-like patterns, and offer an exciting visual and tactile experience. The modules can be used individually or in groups, fronts can be operated with a built-in sliding door system.
