Novi dom, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The consequences of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 virus pandemic and by the restrictive measures implemented by many governments will certainly have a major impact on the construction industry and also on architecture itself. We have witnessed a change in lifestyle as well as the use of all public spaces that has happened in a very short time, it is questionable whether the functioning of public life will ever return to the state it was in. Public spaces and in particular mass gathering halls, public transport stations, airports, stadiums, and sports halls will certainly go through a series of measures to adapt to the new situation. Residential architecture could be put in focus because by forcibly staying in their homes, many now understand the importance of good and comfortable living space, which in a short time became also an office, gym, and even a favorite cafe. It is up to us architects to find new creative solutions in these limiting conditions to continue and improve the functioning of these spaces.
