Furkan Yavuz – Founding Member & Brand Ambassador

The son of founders of the museum Sibel and Kenan Yavuz, Furkan is managing & growing the network of the institution with solution partners in order to generate new projects that add value to the region & enhance the branding of the museum. His in-house produced short movies of the museum help spread their family’s story to wider audiences across the world and aims to help increase awareness on the local heritage around the region.

Furkan also focuses on creating ways to engage with younger generations and increase their engagement with the museum whilst continuing his career as a consultant in tech in Ireland.

Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum

Family founded and run museum is located in Bayburt/Turkey, aims to create awareness on the issues caused by immigration from villages to the cities while preserving the heritage of the region through its collection and temporary/permanent exhibitions hosted. The living museum model implemented allows visitors to have interactive experiences through workshops, hands-on practices, festivals and cultural weeks hosted at the museum including harvest festival, folklore dance evenings, baking with a tandoor, children games weeks, singing traditional songs during the visit and many more. The museum hopes to demonstrate the potential of heritage tourism and the hospitality industry to create new jobs and improve the quality of life for the villagers and inhabitants of the wider region of Bayburt.
