Cut is the result of a long design process between Axolight and Timo Ripatti, aimed at the design of an adjustable lamp, that can be positioned on three points and never dazzle. From here comes Cut, a family of adjustable lamps – table, floor or suspension version – which stands out for its refined and unique design.
The laser-cut aluminium structure, folded in several points, connects two elements: the light source embedded in a circular metal support and a semi-transparent diffuser disk embedded in a ring. The two elements face each other, so that the light emitted by the light source is filtered and partially reflected by the screen.

About the designer:
Educated as a Furniture Designer and Architect, Timo Ripatti has worked widely in the design field. His work history varies from lighting and furniture design to large-scale architectural, exhibition, and interior design projects in Finland and abroad with occasional participation in art gallery exhibitions. Now he leads the design company STUDIO RIPATTI in Helsinki.
His mission is to combine aesthetic, poetic, and functional qualities into his work. He strives to design human-scale products that work in a perfect balance with the space and architecture. He is dedicated to working with the brands of the highest quality in the means of vision, production technology, service and sustainability.
Timo Ripatti has designed for world famous brands and he won numerous international awards.
