Houses of the World Festival has been dedicated to identifying and promoting high quality architectural practices in the field of constructing individual houses around the world. The Festival aims to raise the awareness of the general living culture by means of lectures delivered by some renowned architects, as well as through an exhibition and prize giving.

The festival is committed to enhancing the quality of the built environment, sustainable development, greater use of renewable energy sources, human and eco-friendly materials, and above all, to building better and more beautiful houses.

The climax of a month long exhibition is its opening that includes award ceremony of the “Hiše Awards” for sustainable and architectural excellence, awarded by international jury.
A month long exhibition Houses of the World is one of the most visited exhibition. The very best 50 family houses, built in the last two years, from across the world will be showcased in City of design Slovenia and therefore help improve the general public’s awareness of the importance of professional design and execution of architectural projects in private sphere. Selected projects will be screened by the strictest criteria and as such will be living models of professional excellence. Presentation of different houses from different geographic, sociological, and economical environments underlines the importance of consideration of every individual circumstance in design and construction, and the fact that quality architecture is possible on basis of multiple principles and conditions. Houses of the World is the event of the year for prospect investors, for all who renovate their apartments, for design aficionados and outdoor art fans, while for sponsors it is a unique opportunity for being partner in an exclusive and high-profile event.

Within the scope of the Big Architecture and Houses of the World 2017 Festivals there will be B2B Architecture² Expo.
The purpose of the Expo is to familiarise architects and building professionals with the innovations in the field of high quality architectural interior envelopes: ceramics, tiles, floor, and wall carpetings, coatings and paints, parquets, partitions, doors, window shades and blinds, stairs, saunas, lighting, intelligent technology, and other interior furnishings.

Contact tables are individual business talks for networking professionals in architecture and in construction sector.
